Dobama Theatre Audition Notice
BLUE DOOR by Tanya Barfield. A black man undergoes a transformative
experience when his white wife divorces him for not participating in the
Million Man March. Powerful, lyrical, poetic.
Directed by Scott Plate
Production dates: 1/29/10 2/21/10
Lewis: an African-American male in his 50s, refined and educated. Think
Henry Lewis Gates.
African-American male: 20s, plays many roles, sings, dances, does dialects;
versatile performer required.
SPEECH & DEBATE by Stephen Karam. Three marginalized teens stumble upon a
scandal and discover the power of cooperative thinking, and learn to
survive. Funny, smart, moving.
Directed by Scott Plate
Production dates: 3/19/10 4/11/10
Teacher/Reporter: female, 35-45. Actress must play two distinct characters
