The Youngstown Playhouse Youth Theatre will hold auditions for the upcoming production of CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY,? Monday and Tuesday, September 28 and 29 at 5 p.m., at the theatre, 600 Playhouse Lane, Youngstown. John Pecano and Candace DiLullo are co-directors of the show.



Playwright,Richard George, has adapted Raold Dahl's?classic childrens' book for the stage. CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY tells the story of young Charlie Bucket, who is one of several children who are chosen to tour the world famous chocolate factory of the mysterious Willie Wonka. Along the way, he shares adventures with Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Veruca Salt and others, as he discovers the true meaning of team work, self esteem and self confidence.



CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY requires a large cast of girls and boys, age 8 years and up, and adults of all ages. Those auditioning are asked to bring a wallet size photo and will be asked to read from the script. Rehearsals will be from 4:30 - 6 p.m., beginning Tuesday, October 13. Performances are scheduled for December 2 - 5, and will include some daytime and evening shows.
