In 1492, with the stroke of a pen, fifteen hundred years of Jewish life
in Spain came to an abrupt end. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month,
uncover the mysteries of Catholic families who light Friday night
candles and Hebrew letters on Christian headstones in this fascinating
story of the Conversos and the memories that still haunt their
descendants. Dr. Judith S. Neulander, folkloricist and co-director,
Program in Judaic Studies at CASE leads a post-viewing discussion.
