*Directed by Don Edelman
Musical direction by Stephen A. Eva *
Following on last year's highly successful /Guys & Dolls/ concert, Steve
Eva and Don Edelman team up again to bring you a special
one-weekend-only production of /Man of La Mancha/, featuring the
*28-piece Chagrin Falls Studio Orchestra* on stage!
Set in the time of the Spanish Inquisition, La Mancha is the story of a
knight who embarks on a romantic and noble journey to win the heart of a
good woman and to capture "The Impossible Dream." Based on Miguel de
Cervantes' classic book "Don Quixote," "Man of La Mancha" has been
deemed as one of the all-time great successes of American stage. Dale
Wasserman wrote the stage play script and was quickly persuaded by his
colleagues to rewrite it as a musical. Mitch Leigh and Joe Darion
provided the music and lyrics, and soon the show made a nearly six-year
Broadway run. The musical received five Tony Awards with one each to the
composer, lyricist, director and Richard Kiley, who played the leading role.
A reception will be held following the Sunday performance. Complimentary
wine will be served during intermission at all performances.
Chagrin Valley Little Theatre is generously funded by Cuyahoga County
residents through Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. The Ohio Arts Council
helped fund this program or organization with state tax dollars to
encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural
enrichment for all Ohioans.
