Legendary Dominican guitarist Puerto Plata (born José Manuel Cobles) opens the 2009-10 VIVA! & Gala season with his Cleveland debut. Born in 1923 in the resort town that gave him his name, Plata plays the guitar and sings Dominican sones, boleros, and merengues, his voice reflecting romance and trouble.
