AUDITION NOTICE
  
What You Do In The Dark…
Adapted from the novel for the stage by Deborah (Marbury) McDaniel 
Directed by Deborah McDaniel 
  
Auditions will run from Monday, October 19, 2009 until Saturday, November 14, 2009. Weekday auditions will be Monday-Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Interested parties must call 216-544-9798 or email Deborah McDaniel (carenboogerton at yahoo.com) for an appointment. 
  
The show is to be rehearsed for a videotaped performance on Saturday, March 6, 2010 and Saturday, March 12, 2010. A one-woman stageplay performance will be scheduled for Friday, June 4, 11, 18 and 25, 2010. Only two actors will perform in June. The rest of the cast will be videotaped in March. 
  
***Rehearsals will begin on Tuesday, December 01, 2009, and will be held on Monday-Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Adjustments will be made to the rehearsal schedule during the month of December. *** 
  
The plot centers on the main character of the novel, Caren Boogerton, who is contemplating suicide ten years after the events of the novel. So, she prays to ask God for help. He sends an angel, MC Love and a demon comes along to antagonize, DJ Hate. The two spiritual beings host a TV Talk Show from the spirit realm where they reacquaint Caren with the events of her past (from the novel). MC Love’s goal is to help Caren learn from and rise above her past, but DJ Hate’s goal is to make Caren feel condemned because of her past. This stageplay promises to be an innovative approach to an inspirational message and to theatre as well. 
  
Looking for African American male and female actors who can sing and dance. Ages can range from 16-45.

Auditions will consist of reading scenes from the play, performing a song of the actor’s choice, as well as a dance routine (both a secular and praise dance). Musicians are also needed.
