GOD'S TROMBONES
Karamu brings James Weldon Johnson's poetic classic to the stage through
the fire and brimstone of seven galvanizing preachers, soul stirring
singing and thunderous dancing, with biblical verses such as The Creation,
Let My People Go, The Prodigal Son and Judgment Day weaved into an
unforgettable hand clapping, foot stomping, uplifting spiritual
celebration. Mr. Johnson was a close friend of the Karamu founders and
also known for writing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” often called “The
Black National Anthem.” We are excited about bringing God’s Trombones to
the North East Ohio audience.
