Cleveland State University

Dramatic Arts Program

presents.

The Fantasticks
October 8th-18th

216.687.2109

The Fantasticks returns this weekend and runs through the 18th. Dr. Michael
L. Mauldin, the acclaimed director of Return to the Forbidden Planet and
chair of the CSU Dramatic Arts Program, returns to give a new commedia
dell'arte spin to one of the most beloved musicals ever. The Fantasticks is
a musical love story with a catch: two fathers, both alike in dignity,
scheme to get their children to wed by forbidding them to see each other.
Enter a handsome rogue and his buffoonish acting troupe with an offer to
fake a kidnapping as the masterstroke of their plan. But when the truth is
revealed, who shall be pardon'd and who shall be punished? The Tony
Award-winning Fantasticks is the longest-running musical in history.

Franklin Stein's Project

Have you made your Halloween plans yet? Be sure to include the CSU Factory
Theatre on Halloween weekend, because the creative team behind last year's
smash hit Night of the Living Dead is bringing you Franklin Stein
<http://www.franklinsteinsproject.com/> 's Project. Remixing Mary Shelley's
classic horror story with the horror of being a high school outcast, CSU
students John Paul Soto and Lew Wallace bring to life Franklin Stein, a
skinny geek reaching for the stars who will soon find his science project on
a murderous rampage through the halls of Geneva County High School.
