The Cleveland Museum of Art Film Series presents Afghan Star, directed by Havana Marking, on Friday, October 16, 7:00pm and Sunday, October 18, 1:30pm in Morley Lecture Hall:

Winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary at this year's Sundance Film Festival and one of the most acclaimed movies of 2009.

This Cleveland premiere looks at a handful of Afghan citizens-men and women-willing to risk their safety and even their lives as singing contestants on a hugely popular American Idol-style TV show in post-Taliban Afghanistan.
