The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Beck Center Youth Theater Presents C.S. Lewis' Classic Story

 

Lakewood, OH-Travel to the magical land of Narnia with four English
school children in the Beck Center Youth Theater's production of The
Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe on the Mackey Main Stage, November 5 to
8, 2009, at the Beck Center for the Arts. Show times are 7:30 p.m.
Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday with an already sold-out student
matinee performance at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 5. 

 

Adapted from the classic story by C.S. Lewis and dramatized by Joseph
Robinette, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is for audiences of all
ages. This heroic, enthralling tale of love, faith, courage, and giving
chronicles the life and death struggle for control of Narnia and the
grandeur of the triumph of good over evil. 

 

The show features a cast of 61 young actors, ranging in age from 7 to 18
years, who are all students from the Beck Center's Dance, Music, and
Theater Departments. 

 

"This production is a huge undertaking, and our students are rising to
the challenge," says Director Jonathan S. Kronenberger, Beck Center
associate director of Theater Education. "We are so excited to present
this classic, grand story onstage in such a simple manner. The play's
action will stir the audience's imagination which plays an important
part in the telling of this story."

 

Tickets are $12 for adults/seniors and $10 for students/children 18 and
under. (Ticket prices include service fees.) Group discounts are
available for parties of 13 or more. To reserve tickets, call the Beck
Center box office at 216.521.2540 ext. 10. Beck Center is located at
17801 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood, just ten minutes west of downtown
Cleveland. Free onsite parking is available.

 

Beck Center's production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is
presented through special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing
Company and is sponsored by Cox Communications, Martha Holden Jennings
Foundation, and Music is Elementary. The Ohio Arts Council helped fund
this production with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth,
educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans. This
production is also generously supported by the public through a grant
from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.

 

Beck Center for the Arts is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization that
offers professional theater productions on two stages, arts education
programming in dance, music, theater, visual arts, early childhood, and
creative arts therapies for special needs students, and gallery exhibits
