The show opens Oct. 30 and runs through Nov. 21. In the play, four

Aurora Community Theatre's 50th season kicks off with Neil Simon's "Rumors."

The curtain will go up at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays Oct. 30 through
Nov. 21.

"Rumors" takes a look at what happens when four sophisticated couples
try to get their story straight after arriving for dinner at the home of
the New York City Deputy Mayor, to discover their host is shot and their
hostess is missing. Comic complications abound when everyone tries to
manage the message and conceal the evening's events from local police
and media.

"It was Sir Walter Scott who declared 'what a tangled web we weave, when
first we practice to deceive,'" director Barbara L. Rhoades said.
"However, he forgot to say how very funny it can be as well. So, Neil
Simon corrected that oversight when he wrote this wonderful American farce."

The upscale drawing-room comedy features a talented cast: Eric Oswald
(Lenny Ganz); Jen Klika (Claire Ganz); Adam Young (Ken Gorman); Chris
White (Chris Gorman); Michael Green (Glenn Cooper); Tari Lyn Bergoine
(Cassie Cooper); Kathy Steiner (Cookie Cusack); Mark Moore (Ernie
Cusack); Sharon Brandon (Officer Welsh); and Deb Young (Officer Pudney).

Marianne Paul is producer, while Towar Vilas serves as both assistant
director and stage manager. Young will manage props in addition to her
onstage role. Don "Arbie" Arbuckle led ACT's construction team: Tom
Dean, Greg Fetzer, Mark Howard, Bernie Keister, Bob Levy and Daniel
White. Fetzer oversees both lighting and sound with assistance from Zach
Wells and Marcy Sykes, while Jean Arbuckle contributed her creative
flair to set decoration. Adding their talents to a successful show are
Dorothy Edwards, house manager, Linda Balwinski, program coordinator and
Vicki Rizzo Prato, hospitality.

Tickets at $16 for adults, $11 for youth 18 and under, are available

<http://www.auroracommmunitytheatre.com>, or call the box office at
