Opera Circle to perform "Don Pasquale" on November 20 and 22

Traditional Bohemian National Hall to Host Performance in Bel-canto Style

Opera Circle announces that, in collaboration with the Cleveland Women's
Orchestra under the musical direction of Robert L. Conquist, it will perform
Don Pasquale at Bohemian National Hall (4939 Broadway Avenue, Cleveland) on
Friday, November 20 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 22 at 3:00 p.m. The
opera will be presented in 19th-century Italian bel canto or "beautiful
singing" style where vocalists create continuous, melodic lines from the
poetic score.

Don Pasquale is an opera buffa or "comic opera" written by Gaetano Donizetti
in three acts that take place in a single day. The events follow young
Ernesto who is in love with penniless Norina and who refuses to marry a more
suitable woman chosen for him by his rich uncle Don Pasquale. Pasquale's
physician schemes to gain approval for Ernesto and Norina by tricking
Pasquale into a union with the physician's sister that is riddled with
trouble and misery. Pasquale is so relieved to discover his relationship is
a sham, that he consents to the marriage of his nephew and Norina.

The cast includes the outstanding opera voices of Ray Liddle as Don
Pasquale, Timothy Culver as Ernesto, Dorota Sobieska as Norina, James Love
as Dr. Malatesta, and Joel Rhoads as the notary.

Tickets for Don Pasquale, available in advance or at the door, are $55 for
reserved sponsor seats, $20 for general admission, and $10 for students.
