For young children AND their parents! Students, along with a parent or guardian, will work on theatrical fundamentals such as storytelling, emotional expression, creative movement, musical awareness, and vocal exploration.

Introduction to Theater & Acting
Explores theater as an art form.  Topics vary in each class, but include: How theater tells a story, stage directions, movement for the stage, projection, diction, theater terminology, styles and types of theater, story structure, improvisation, acting technique and the roles of the playwright, actors, director, designers and the audience. Musical Theater
Students will work on musical theater technique, including: learning lyrics, learning music, vocal dynamics, pitch training, music reading skills, choreographed movement, integrating character development and how to use acting skills to tell the story behind a song.  Topics vary between the two classes.  See specific class descriptions for more information.

Introduces actors to the principles and techniques of acting, including staying in character, being in the moment, studying subtext and GOTE (Goals, Obstacles, Tactics and Expectations). This class is intended for students who want to further develop their performance skills.

Studies proper singing technique and is a suitable for beginners to intermediate singers. Specific skills include: Proper breathing and support, singer's posture, warm-up techniques and exercises, introduction to sight reading and music notation, ear training, resonance, diction and eliminating muscular tension.

Join us for a day of fun and games on these scheduled days out of school. Theater games aren't only fun to play, they develop focus and concentration skills, enhance self-esteem, make it easier to step into new situations, improve problem-solving ability, strengthen listening skills, encourage teamwork and manage public speaking fears. These skills are necessary to both on-stage performing and for everyday life!
