Hudson Players To Hold Auditions Tonight for the Musical "Monky Business"

Hudson's Community Theater To Hold Open Auditions November 22 & 23

The Hudson Players will hold auditions for "Monky Business" a musical comedy
with monks, mayhem and merriment on November 22 & 23 at 7 p.m. at the Barlow
Community Center at 41 S. Oviatt St in Hudson. All roles are available with
interested crew volunteers and production team members also being sought.
Auditions are open to all with no restrictions, with the show calling for
five men. Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script and sing a
prepared song. Accompanist will be provided. More information is available
at www.hudsonplayers.com <http://www.hudsonplayers.com/> , by emailing
info at hudsonplayers.com or by calling 330-655-8522. (They are also holding
one more night of auditions for "It's a Wonderful Life - The Live Radio
Play" tonight - November 16th at 7:30 p.m.)

"Monky Business" continues the long running community theater troupe's 65th
Anniversary Season (sponsored in part by The Hudson Community Foundation and
The Hudson Rotary). With performances being held February 5, 6, 12, 13, 19,
20, 21, 26 & 27 the hysterically funny musical with book by Todd Mueller,
and music and lyrics is sure to keep everyone laughing. The show brings
together five fun-loving monks who enter the battle good against evil during
a radiothon fundraiser to keep a developer from turning the monastery into a
casino. The Brothers take turns singing and performing vaudeville routines
in an effort to raise $250,000 to save the monastery (including one monk who
can't speak). This hilarious hit musical is a la "Nunsense" and brings
together poisoned venison-and-whipped-cream pie, a radio mystery, a zany
ventriloquist act, a witty Abbot-and-Costello-inspired routine about faith,
a minor miracle and plenty of great, hummable songs all of which combine
together in a crazy quilt of monks, mayhem and merriment.

Perusal scripts are available at the Hudson Library.

The Hudson Players are an all volunteer non-profit community theater
organization and one of the longest running theater troupes in the area.
Volunteers are always welcome to assist with a variety of tasks including
publicity, poster distribution, set building, costumes and more. Auditions
to their shows are open to all with no restrictions. Additional information
is available at www.hudsonplayers.com <http://www.hudsonplayers.com/> , by
emailing info at hudsonplayers.com or by calling 330-655-8522.
