This season marks the 10th Anniversary of Akron's Holiday Event of the Season and includes dozens of new costumes, new set pieces and a huge and talented cast! Weathervane Playhouse is pleased to announce seventeen performances of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Broadway blockbuster. Joseph has instant appeal for every audience, shimmering with elaborately staged production numbers and a score full of hits! Back by popular demand, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a Young Actor Series production on stage at Weathervane from Friday, November 24 ~ Sunday, December 20, 2009. Joseph is a rainbow ride through biblical Egypt on the wings of Andrew Lloyd Webber's uplifting music and the humor of lyricist Tim Rice. The musical tells the story of Joseph, a young man with a knack for having prophetic dreams. He incurs the jealousy of his brothers when his father gives him a magnificent colorful coat. The adventure that ensues tells an epic tale of biblical proportion!

Each performance will feature a local youth choir. The choirs participating this year are Miller South Performing Arts School in Akron, St. Francis deSales in Akron, Windemere Elementary School in Akron, and a combined choir from Essex and Ritzman Elementary Schools in Akron.

The production promises to be an entertaining and fun family production! Special weekday morning performances are available, along with regular public performances. Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for youth under the age of 17. Group rates are also available. Charge by phone at 330-836-2626 with Visa, MasterCard or Discover, Tuesday - Friday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
