The Conneaut Community Center for the Arts in Conneaut, Ohio is proud to bring you "Charles Dickens reads A Christmas Carol" performed by regional actor/comedian Michael Breeze.

Mike has been performing this show for over ten years now, but his intimate dealings with this ghostly little book date back to 1993, when he first adapted the classic novel to the stage for its 150th anniversary. He has played as Ebenezer Scrooge and directed "A Christmas Carol" annually for more than 16 years.

Loads of research has gone into how Dickens wrote and performed back in the later 1800s. His readings marked the first time in history that people stood in long lines around city blocks to view popular entertainment. The people loved to see Dickens perform all the characters, and this modern rendering has been played out to similar reactions.

"Charles Dickens reads A Christmas Carol" has been performed in churches, schools, libraries, theatres, prisons, and at private homes all over the extended area. The full length production has an intermission and will total under two hours run time. This is just how Dickens did it 160 years ago...

Join us Sunday, December 6th, at 3 p.m. in historic Kilpi Hall (almost as old as A Christmas Carol itself!) Cost is $8.00 and light refreshments will be served. Reservations are recommended. Call 593-5888 for questions or reservations, or visit us on the web at www.conneautartscenter.org
