This year's Holiday Sale at Arts Collinwood Gallery is kid-friendly -- and pretty friendly to all those frazzled shoppers tired of malls full of screaming children, too!  We'll keep little ones busy with free arts projects in our arts center, while adults shop the gallery in peace.  And to make it a really special hoilday tradition, bring the whole family, shop the Arts Collinwood sale, and stick around for brunch at the Beachland Ballroom with free puppet shows!  Make the holiday meaningful in that unique Waterloo style.  See the following media release for more details.

The Holiday Sale at Arts Collinwood Gallery has already become a popular Cleveland institution and a draw for visitors from around the city, featuring unique and affordable artwork from more than 30 top regional artists.  This year’s sale will be held from December 11 through December 13, and will feature a wide array of wearable art, jewelry, prints, paintings and glass, in a festive holiday ambience.

Look for work by some of Cleveland’s best-known glass artists – one-of-a-kind vases, bowls, glasses, even fixtures, including museum quality art – along with award-winning silver designs, hand-made vintage clothing and accessories, unique knits and hats, collectible prints and much more.  (For a list of artists participating, see below.)  And enjoy it in an inviting gallery setting, with an adjoining café serving a full range of lunch and dinner options, specialty coffee drinks and a fully licensed bar.

And as a special feature for families, this year’s sale offers a free supervised children’s art area:  let the kids play and make art of their own in our community arts center, while you browse for special gifts.  And treat everyone to cookies and cocoa to top it all off.

It’s a chance to eat well while doing good.  ”Every purchase shoppers make, in our gallery or our café, helps to support community arts,” says Executive Director Sarah Gyorki.  “The fabulous vintage clutch you grab for your best friend helps make a children’s art class possible.  That Randall Tiedman painting helps buy a budding painter supplies.  It’s hard not to feel good about taking home great art, benefiting artists and children, and having a really great day out in one of Cleveland’s hippest neighborhoods.”

One of the greatest affordable luxuries in life is surely the self-indulgent pleasure of the Sunday brunch. The Beachland Ballroom’s brunch offers a new spin on the traditional event combining both a unique menu and guest DJs spinning every Sunday.
The club has created a unique menu featuring updated classic brunch items, plus a generous and creative selection of vegetarian and vegan items.  One of the most popular menu items is the Crème Brulee French toast.  The Brulee-inspired topping is made with candied burnt sugar and pralines. Myers’s Rum and brown sugar is added to the crème and eggs. It is served with fresh fruit.
For vegans or vegetarians, the scrambled tofu is a special treat. Tofu is marinated in dark soy sauce and sesame oil and sautéed with scallions or onions, served with a side of broccoli and potatoes. Breakfast empanadas are filled with eggs; steak, bacon or sausage depending on the kitchen’s choice; potatoes, olives, sultana raisins served with lime sour cream on the side.  Additional menu items include fried risotto cakes with poached eggs and broccoli, Gaucho steak and eggs, breakfast polenta and weekly chef’s specials. For those seeking more traditional fare, eggs, bacon and sausage are also staples on the menu.
Each week, different Sangria is featured. Previous weeks have included refreshing thirteen fruit sangria, fresh watermelon sangria, fresh cherry sangria and others. The bar also features house-made Bloody Marys
Brunch is available every Sunday from 11am to 3 pm with table service and available a la carte.
