  Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

All roles are available  
Non-Traditional casting will be considered for all roles.
 
Principle roles include:
 
Margaret(Maggie): 20s-30s Female; ‘the Cat’, a gorgeous heroine, a woman desperate in her sense of loneliness, who is made all the more beautiful in her envy, longing, and dispossession.
 
Brick: 20s-30s Male; embodies an almost archetypal masculinity. At the same time, Brick is also an obviously broken man because of his repressed homosexual desires.
 
Big Daddy: 40s-60s Male; Maggie's father, affectionately dubbed by Maggie as an old-fashioned "Mississippi redneck," Daddy is a large, brash, and vulgar plantation millionaire.
 
Big Mama: 40s-60s Female; Maggie's mother, sincere, earnest, crude, and bedecked in flashy gems, Mama is a woman embarrassingly dedicated to a man who despises her and in feeble denial of her husband's disgust.
 
Mae: 20s-30s Female; a mean, agitated "monster of fertility" who schemes with her husband Gooper to secure Big Daddy's estate.
 
Gooper: 30s-40s Male; a successful corporate lawyer. Gooper is Daddy's eldest and least favored son.
 
Reverend Tooker: 30s-50s Male; a tactless, opportunistic, and hypocritical guest at Big Daddy's birthday party.
 
Dr. Baugh: 20s-40s Male; the sober Baugh is Daddy's physician. He delivers Daddy's diagnosis to Big Mama and leaves her with a prescription of morphine.
 
Those auditioning will do a ‘cold reading’ from the script.  
A prepared monologue is not needed. 
 
Rehearsals will run Monday –Thursday beginning JANUARY 4th, 2010.
Performance dates are January 29th through February 7th, 2010
