What the critics are saying:

"Browns Rules makes the courageous, cockamamie choice to be a
vaudeville-style variety show about one of the losingest teams in the
NFL, and the one with the most ardent -- or psychotic -- fans. As if the
Browns weren't comic enough already, playwright and native Clevelander
Eric Schmiedl fills the show with jokes, about the Browns and their
incessantly complaining but tenaciously loyal fans, and about those
Antichrists in black and gold, the Pittsburgh Steelers." - Tony Brown,
Cleveland Plain Dealer

"Browns Rules is a total hoot, enjoyable if you're only a casual Browns
backer, but as satisfying as a signature Bernie Kosar touchdown pass if
you're a diehard. Think of it as the Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour, if
Sonny were the far more-versatile Schmiedl, and if Cher were two men -
Nick Koesters and Nathan A. Lilly - who know a whole lot about everyone
from Otto Graham to Ernie Davis... a show that provides genuinely
hilarious laughs, just in time for us to mourn another lost Browns
season. If you're even the slightest fan, you'll walk out dreaming about
the promise of (a Mangini-free?) next year." - Brian Thornton, Spangle
Magazine

Don't miss the world-premiere of this cabaret style musical by
nationally recognized local playwright Eric Schmiedl. Browns Rules is
both a musical send-up and a heartfelt love-letter to The Cleveland
Browns. Three performer musicians and the audience are on a mission -
successfully name the 29 rules of being a Browns fan and the Brownies
will win the Superbowl next season.

Part vaudeville, part sideshow, part variety show Browns Rules is an
interactive exploration of the relationship between Cleveland and our
beloved football team. With a rock band on stage, three performers
combine storytelling and drama as they rip apart myths, celebrate
heroes, and try to understand what makes the Cleveland Browns so
important to our culture. What was the All-America Football Conference
and who destroyed it? How did Paul Brown inspire his famous 1949
all-star team? Art Modell, friend or foe? Who called "Red Right 88?" Who
wrote the song "Bernie, Bernie?" Cleveland Browns Stadium, asset or
financial disaster? These questions and more are examined as Browns
Rules looks at our dear Brownies and the city that loves and hates them.
