*Actors’ Summit Announces Added Performances*

*Belle of Amherst** Re-scheduled for May. *

Actors’ Summit, Hudson’s professional theater, has added four performances
to the run of *NOBODY DON’T LIKE YOGI*. The additional shows will be on
January 28, 29, 30 & 31. The unanimous critical acclaim and the
unprecedented demand for tickets prompted the theater to extend the run of
the play by an additional week. The play is performed Thursdays, Fridays &
Saturdays at 8:00 PM and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 PM at the theater in
downtown Hudson, now through January 31st.

In order to accommodate the extension, the scheduled performances of *The
Belle of Amherst* have been shifted to the end of the season. *The Belle of
Amherst*, a play about the life and poetry of Emily Dickinson starring
MaryJo Alexander, has been rescheduled for May 20, 21, 22 & 23. Patrons
holding tickets for the January run of *Belle* can use their tickets for the
corresponding performance in May. Refunds are available at the box office or
by phone.

“We’re delighted that George Roth was able to accommodate the added
performances,” said director Neil Thackaberry. “The audience response has
been remarkable with sold out performances and standing ovations.”

Critical responses to George Roth’s performance have been uniformly
positive, praising his ability to play both the humor and passion of the
Hall of Fame catcher, manager, and philosopher. Chuck Yarborough in the
Plain Dealer wrote: “Roth's performance showed a respect, understanding and
maybe even love by allowing Berra's gentle goodness and strong sense of
right and wrong to come through.” “George Roth skillfully weaves an
emotional tapestry” said Kerry Clawson in the Beacon Journal. “This one-man
show is an excellent production marked by a solid script and a powerful
performance.” wrote David Ritchey in the West Side Leader. Fran Heller in
the Cleveland Jewish news said: “an entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable
evening of theater.”

*About NOBODY DON’T LIKE YOGI*

*This one-person show* celebrates the hall of famer’s humor, loyalty, and
wisdom as he reflects on his baseball career and the great players that have
worn pinstripes over the years. Berra’s malapropisms (‘Yogi-isms’) have
become legendary. Yogi is the most frequently quoted American. *Nobody
Don’t Like Yogi* weaves together a portrait of a player, father, a friend,
and an unlikely philosopher.

The play is set on “Yogi Berra Day” in 1999 when Berra returned to Yankee
Stadium for the first time in 14 years. The long absence was the result of
a feud between George Steinbrenner and Yogi. To get Yogi back, Steinbrenner
made a personal visit to the Yogi Berra Museum and apologized to Berra.

Although Yogi Berra is widely known for his Yogi-isms, the cartoon character
named after him, and his television commercials, much of the public is
unaware of his accomplishments as a player and manager.

While Berra was on the team, the New York Yankees won 14 American League
championships, and triumphed 10 times in the World Series, unequaled records
for a player in either major league. He holds World Series records for most
games played by a catcher, most times at-bat, most hits, and most
doubles. Only
two players in the history of the game have scored more home runs in World
Series play. Among other records as a catcher in the regular season, he
played 148 consecutive games without an error. Berra played in 15 All-Star
games, and was named Most Valuable Player in the American League in 1951,
1954 and 1955.
