[NEohioPAL] New Murder Mystery Troupe to hold auditions

Murder With Reservations, a new murder mystery company, is seeking 6 talented actors for their new production, “The Shotshank Rejection.” We need four men and two women for this production, plus understudies. 
 
Description of Characters:
 
Denise DeNephew – mid 20s to mid 30s – A cute, perky, OCD tour guide at the prison. She has a degree in corrections but the warden has her doing menial jobs.
 
Wes Virginia – late 20’s to mid 60s –An inmate convicted for operating a very large moonshine still. A cross between Larry the Cable Guy and Forrest Gump. Heavy comedic role.
 
Red Raw – mid 30s to mid 50s – Captain of the guards. Big, tough, mean and secretly gay. Has a crush on the warden.
 
Earl “Slick” Ocean – mid 40s to mid 50s – A reformed con man at the end of his prison sentence. Wise-cracking but not mean.
 
Hattie Purst – mid 40s to mid 50s – Still a soldier in the counter-culture revolution, Hattie has had trouble leaving the late 60s-early70s behind. Plans to break Slick out of jail.
 
Warden Nicodemus Peabody – mid 40s to early 60s – A corrupt official. About 5 years away from retirement, the warden has published a book on his techniques in prison reform and is trying to sell it to the audience. This actor also plays Captain Mess, the police negotiator.
 
Rehearsals will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays with an opening date of Saturday, March 20. The show is expected to run about six months with all Saturday shows. Pay is competitive with other local murder mystery groups. Auditions will be held at Lolli’s Restaurant and Banquet Center in Canton, Ohio on Tuesday, February 2nd and Thursday, February 4th at 6:30 p.m. It will be an open, cold reading audition.
