Chagrin Falls Studio Orchestra to Perform Valentine's Concert on February 13

Featuring Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with Renowned Pianist Dmitri
Levkovich

 

Conductor Stephen A. Eva and the Chagrin Falls Studio Orchestra announce
that they will perform a Valentine's Concert at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday,
February 13, 2010, at Chagrin Valley Little Theatre (40 River Street,
Chagrin Falls).  The concert, sponsored by Hamlet Retirement Village, will
feature music from the animated Disney film The Hunchback of Notre Dame, a
selection from Camelot, romantic movie scores including Gone With the Wind,
and Rachmaninoff's Vocalise. Dmitri Levkovich, world-renowned pianist and
prize winner at the recent 2009 Cleveland International Piano Competition,
will join the Studio Orchestra for a showcase performance of Rachmaninoff's
Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor, Op. 18.

 

Dmitri Levkovich holds a degree in Composition from the Curtis Institute of
Music. His compositions have been performed by National Symphony Orchestra
of Ukraine, Liepaya Philharmonic, and Curtis Symphony Orchestra. His
featured solos include those with National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine,
the New Hampshire Music Festival Orchestra, Cleveland Institute of Music
Orchestra, Takamatsu International Piano Competition Orchestra, Florence
Symphony Orchestra, Plano Symphony Orchestra, Hilton Head Orchestra and the
Louisiana Philharmonic. His numerous awards include Second Prize (2009),
Audience Prize, and Chopin Prize in the Cleveland International Piano
Competition; First Prize in the Jose Iturbi International Music Competition;
Second Prize in the New Orleans International Piano Competition; and First
Prize and Public Prize in the Viardo International Piano Competition. Mr.
Levkovich is currently pursuing his Artist Diploma under the renowned
pianist Sergei Babayan. 

 

"In honor of Valentine's Day, we have selected romantic scores from stage
and movies," notes Studio Orchestra conductor Stephen Eva. "And, we are
thrilled to have the opportunity to perform a passionate interpretation of
Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto with Dmitri, sure to delight and enchant all."


 

Tickets for the Valentine's Concert are $35 for adults and $20 for children
