WHO DUNNIT??
Find out in "Witness for the Prosecution!"
At Coach House Theatre February 4-28
($10 Preview Performance, Thursday, Feb. 4 only)
Surprise after surprise awaits audiences in one of Agatha Christie's most
famous "who dunnit" tales, "Witness for the Prosecution," --- returning to
Coach House this February!
Small-time inventor Leonard Vole (Jeremy Jenkins), desperate to prove he is
innocent of murdering a rich, old woman, hires Sir Wilfrid Robarts (Timothy
H. Champion) to defend him. Vole's case is threatened when his only reliable
alibi, his wife Romaine (Tess Burgler), testifies against him! Can Sir
Robarts find the truth?
Christie's murder mysteries at Coach House have become a hugely popular
Akron tradition, and our four-week run will likely sell out quickly. So
order your tickets now!
There will be a special $10 preview performance Thursday, February 4 only,
at 8 p.m. It's your chance to see this great murder mystery not only at an
incredible bargain, but with a guarantee of tickets! A "Valentine's Eve"
package including champagne, roses and an optional dinner is scheduled for
Saturday, February 13.
WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION
will be onstage at Coach House Theatre FEB. 4-28, 2010.
The Playwright
Plays authored by Dame Agatha Christie are longtime favorites of Coach House
audiences. In the past decade, the theater has staged sell-out productions
of 'The Mousetrap," "The Hollow," "Ten Little Indians," "Murder on the
Nile," "A Murder is Announced," and last season's smash "Appointment with
Death." Often referred to as the "Queen of Crime," Christie is considered
one of the most important and innovative writers in the murder mystery/crime
genre.
The Director
Terry Burgler, one of Coach House's two Artistic Directors, was seen on
stage at Coach House in our popular season opener, "Deathtrap." As director,
he was at the helm of "You Can't Take It With You" this past December, as
well as last season's hit productions of "Light up the Sky" and "Not Now,
Darling!"
Mr. Burgler has worked as an actor, director and producer nationally and
internationally, performing at the Globe Theatre in London, and winning
accolades for his work as Artistic Director at Porthouse Theatre and Ohio
Shakespeare Festival. He was named Outstanding Theatre Artists in 2007 by
Arts Alive! for his theatrical achievements, and he has won many awards as
an actor and director. He is also one of the two Artistic Directors of Ohio
Shakespeare Festival, which performs each summer at Stan Hywet Hall &
Gardens, as well as periodically at Coach House and the Players Guild of
Canton.
