The Youngstown Playhouse, America's oldest continuously running community
theater, is seeking to cast the lead part of Lt. Frank Cioffi for the NE
Ohio premiere of the musical comedy whodunit, CURTAINS.

LIEUTENANT FRANK CIOFFI (20s-early 30s): Local Boston detective who is also
a musical theatre aficionado. Aside from being exceptionally good at his
job, he has also aspired to be a musical theatre performer his entire life.
He falls in love with Niki.

The role requires a baritone with good dancing ability and comic timing.

David Hyde Pierce ("Frasier" and "Spamalot") won a Tony for his portrayal on
Broadway in 2007.

CURTAINS, the last Kander and Ebb musical (CHICAGO, CABARET), is a valentine
to big, old-fashioned musical comedies, with large production numbers,
plenty of comedy and inside theater jokes. CURTAINS is a backstage murder
mystery set in 1959 Boston. The cast and crew of a Broadway-bound musical
all become suspects after the the show's leading lady mysteriously drops
dead onstage while taking her final bow to the sound of applause.

The role is nonpaying but a great opportunity to play the lead in a large
musical. A travel stipend can be arranged for actors living beyond the
greater Youngstown area.

Director Michael Dempsey: "Our creative staff and cast are first-rate, and
the Playhouse has put considerable resources behind this huge, splashy
production. CURTAINS is going to be a blast to do!"

Those interested can contact the Playhouse at 1-330-788-8739 or
Info at TheYoungstownPlayhouse.com <info at theyoungstownplayhouse.com> to arrange
an audition.
