ADVANCED ACTING TRAINING THROUGH CLASSICAL PLAY PRODUCTION
Instructor: Mitchell B. Fields, Professor – Baldwin Wallace College, AEA
Actor, Director and Teacher
Dates: Session One (three weeks) June 21 through July 9, Monday - Friday,
1:30 - 4:30pm
Limit: 15 students
Ages: 8th grade – College

In the three weeks of class students will work on a play from the works of
either Chekhov, Ibsen, or O'Neill, depending on the size of the class and
the breakdown of the participants. Each student will be assigned a role and
will develop that character for the entire session with a performance of the
entire play on the final day. Each role will be challenging and appropriate
for each student. By following a role from beginning to end, the student
will acquire skills that are applied to actual performing, with the
advantage of being coached, not just directed. Exercises will be
incorporated to help with character development, sensory awareness, action
work and communion.

Auditions will be held Sunday, April 18th, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Prepare a 1-2
minute monologue from a play by one of the authors named above. Sign up for
an audition by calling the Fairmount Center at 440-338-3171 or complete the
form at this link <http://www.fairmountcenter.org/auditionsignup.asp>. If
available, please bring a resume and picture to your audition. Also,
pleasedownload
this form <http://www.fairmountcenter.org/pdf/FPACauditionform2010.pdf>,
fill it out and bring it with you!

In some cases, teacher, director and/or FPAC Professional Staff
recommendations will suffice for automatic acceptance into the program
without an interview. Requests for automatic acceptance can be made at this
