New Classes for Youth in the Creative Arts and Cinema Study~
 
"Coming Attractions"
Ages 10 and up -
 
"Coming Attractions" is a youth driven class for individuals who are creatively stimulated by the movies and enjoy expressing themselves in a public forum. Class content is intergenerational and engages the participation of all ages. Students bring their individual talents and resources to the class where they work as a team producing public service announcements and filming adaptations of scenes from plays as well as selections from literature. Additionally, students are encouraged to present their movie reviews and interview local film makers. While class meets at the Detroit Theatre, students will visit cinematic venues in the Cleveland area for various projects. Classes meet at the Detroit Theatre from 11:00 - 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays and/or 5:30 - 6:30 on Mondays~
Fee: $1.50 for each class or $10.00 for 7
Currently accepting registration for March and April 2010~
Open/Free session this Saturday - 3/6 and Monday - 3/8/10

Bios:
Jeff Morin: Jeff is the Creative Director of Combined Efforts Productions. CE is a Lakewood - based independent film group. Guided by Mr. Morin, CE enthusiastically recruits, trains and nurtures talent with several projects in production simultaneously. Interested parties, please e-mail: ceprods at yahoo.com
 
Ellen M. Huber: Since 1989, Ellen has served as an instructor, director and performer in the creative dramatic arts at venues throughout Northeast Ohio. She has worked professionally at Beck Center for the Arts, Huntington Playhouse, Healthspace (the former Health Museum of Cleveland) and with various arts groups. Through scholastic and outreach programs, she has conducted workshops in the creative arts and media literacy. Ellen has collaborated with faculty at TrueNorth for the Cultural Arts and participated with JoAnn DePolo's "Come & Create"  initiatives. Currently, she executes the creative arts program, "To Be or Not To Be" at HCR ManorCare in North Olmsted and is the director of "KidStuf" at Bay Presbyterian Church. Ellen holds a B.A. in Communication with an English minor from John Carroll University and has earned Masters course work in Applied Communication Theory and Methodology at Cleveland State University.
