PLAYHOUSESQUARE ANNOUNCES
2010 BROADWAY SUMMER CAMPS FOR TEENS

-Camps Feature Master Classes with Professionals from THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA-

Cleveland, OH - Broadway Summer Camps for teens ages 14-19 at PlayhouseSquare feature one-of-a-kind opportunities to work with cast and crew members from touring Broadway productions. This year, the PlayhouseSquare Community Engagement & Education Department is offering two camps with cast and crew members from The Phantom of the Opera.

"We are in a unique position to connect students with professionals who are living their dreams," explained Colleen Porter, director of community engagement & education at PlayhouseSquare. "They share what it is really like to audition for a musical; work with a director, choreographer, and musicians; go on tour; perform eight shows a week...everything that happens along the route to Broadway."

The Broadway Summer Camp and the Advanced Broadway Summer Camp are scheduled for August 2-6. Both camps focus on the triple threat of musical theater - acting, singing and dancing - and feature master classes led by the professionals, a ticket to a performance of The Phantom of the Opera at PlayhouseSquare, a professional headshot and lunch each day. The fee for each camp is $400.

Auditions for the advanced camp are required. Interested students must call 216-348-7909 to schedule an audition for Sunday, May 23. Those interested in the advanced camp but not able to audition that day should call 216-348-7909 for alternate instructions. There is a non-refundable audition fee of $15, which is applied toward the camp fee.

Students interested in the Broadway Summer Camp may call 216-348-7909 or visit www.playhousesquare.org/community<http://www.playhousesquare.org/community> to register.

Camps are held in the Idea Center(r) at PlayhouseSquare, located at 1375 Euclid Avenue. Parking is available in the PlayhouseSquare parking garage, the Hanna parking garage and various surface lots in the area.
