*ANY STUDENT WHO WILL BE A JUNIOR OR SENIOR IN FALL 2010 MAY ASK FOR A
MAKE-UP AUDITION
Students who were not able to audition for the Chagrin Falls Performing Arts
Academy two weeks ago, still have an opportunity to join the third season of
this challenging, college-accredited program in theatre and the performing
arts. The Academy is under the direction of Tom Fulton. Private make up
auditions are available through April 30, 2010. Students interested in the
program should sign up soon, as there are a limited number of slots
remaining.*

*THE ACADEMY IS A CONSORTIUM OF NINE GREAT SCHOOLS*
The Performing Arts Academy is a college preparatory program that offers
students 6 college credit hours. Students meet either in morning sessions
(7:30-10) or afternoon sessions 12:30-2:40. Transportation is provided by
the public school systems. The Performing Arts Academy is a rare
opportunity for juniors and seniors who are students in the Aurora,
Beachwood, Chagrin Falls, Mayfield, Orange, Richmond Heights, Solon, South
Euclid, and West Geauga school systems to study theatre a half day every day
as part of their regular school curriculum. Shaker Schools also
participate. Students from other schools may be considered if their school
systems will agree to participate in the Excel TECC program requirements.

*The Academy chooses a season of plays that augment the theories and
exercises our students take in class during the day. We choose plays that
challenge our students with acting styles and creative problems that require
advanced skill and expertise to accomplish. It is the mission of the
Academy to provide our students with theatre experiences that encourage them
to put to practical use the theory and exercises they are studying. We
consider this a hallmark of an Academy education.

   - The Academy is fully accredited.
   - The Academy offers 6 college credit hours
   - Study during school hours - during the school year.
   - The Academy is housed in the new Chagrin Falls Performing Arts Center.
   - Tuition is paid by the public school system.
   - The Academy is under the direction of Tom Fulton, a respected
professional director, actor and acting teacher.

*DEVELOP YOUR CREATIVE SKILLS*
The Academy is for every student who wishes to develop their creative skills
and expressivity - not only young actors. While many of our students will be
trained and will indeed go on to be actors, directors, playwrights, singers,
many others will go on to a wide range of professions and extended study. They
will carry with them the special and empowering knowledge of self that comes
from the challenge of training in the theatre.

*REAL WORLD BENEFITS*
The courage to create, the confidence to stand calmly before others in
stressful situations, the facility to be expressive, the sense of play that
makes one young at heart, the wisdom to see the big picture, the rare and
essential skill to communicate clearly, the sensitivity to find meaning in
relationships and the business of life - these are all real-world benefits
of the training at the Academy.

*THE ACADEMY TEACHES IMPORTANT LESSONS FOR LIVING - NOT JUST CREATING ON THE
STAGE*
Students learn how to relax, to concentrate, to strengthen their voices and
bodies, to be expressive physically and emotionally, to improvise, to
develop empathy for others, to become literate and aware of the world and
aware of themselves. These are important lessons for living, not just acting
or creating on the stage.

*HOW TO APPLY*
Interested students should contact their guidance counselor to request an
audition right away and to sign up online at the applitrack system. Your
guidance counselor can help with all procedures.
