Steel Magnolias Opens on March 5

The Canal Fulton  Players are proud to announce that the cast for the 
dramatic comedy, Steel  Magnolias, by Robert Harling, has been set.  The company 
shall present this  very important play on March 5-7 and 12-14, 2010, at the 
United Methodist Church  of Canal Fulton, 363 West Cherry Street, Canal 
Fulton, Ohio.  The  performances on March 5, 7, 12, and 14 will be at 7:30 pm.  
The  performances on March 6 and 13 will be in a dinner theatre format 
starting at  6:30 pm.  The dinner will be served by the United Methodist Women 
of the  Canal Fulton United Methodist Church.
 
 The play, which is a Dramatists Play Service production, is being  
produced by David Van Gaasbeek and directed by Jack Yoak.  It is a story of  six 
women who deal with marriage, love and death in a small Louisiana town in  the 
1980s.  The central theme is how people deal with the horrible disease,  
diabetes.  The Players are going to donate one dollar for each ticket sold  to 
the American Diabetes Association in honor of all those who brave this  
disease every day of their lives.
 
 Maria Work plays M’Lynn Eatenton, the socially prominent woman of  the 
community.  Her daughter, Shelby, a sufferer of diabetes, is played by  Lisa 
Van Gaasbeek.  The grand matron of the community, Ouiser Boudreaux, is  played 
by Sandra Schmeltzer, while the former mayor’s wife, Clairee Belcher, is  
played by Theresa Graves.  The owner of the beauty shop, Truvy Jones, is  
being played by Megan Huber.  Her assistant, Annelle, is played by Amiee  
Jarzenski.

The cost of admission will be $7.00 for adults  and $5.00 for seniors and 
children under the age of twelve for all non-dinner  theatre dinner 
performances.  The cost for each dinner theatre will be  $17.00 for adults and $15.00 
for seniors and children under the age of  twelve.

Welcome Kathy Devus
Kathy Devus will be directing Mary Chase’s  wonderful comedy about an 
invisible white rabbit who happens to be six feet  tall, Harvey.  This play will 
be presented on May 7-9 and 14-16, 2010 at  Community Connections Theatre.  
Auditions will be on March 15-16 at the  United Methodist Church.  
 
Parts still open for The Story of Esther
 
The Biblical drama, The Story of Esther, will be presented on April 25,  
2010 at 11:00 am at the United Methodist Church of Canal Fulton.  Parts for  
this drama are still open.  The director is Diane Rodd
 
Annie is Coming
On April 6-7, 2010, the Players will be  holding auditions for that 
wonderful comedy about Little Orphan Annie,  Annie.  The play composed and written 
by Charles Strouse will be presented  on June 24-27, 2010 at the Fellowship 
Hall Theatre.  There will be a dinner  theatre on June 26, 2010.
 
 The Director will be Matt King.  The Music Director will be  Ellen 
Wingate.
