TROUBLE with a Capital T at Miller South School!
“The Music Man” comes to the Miller South School for the Visual and
Performing Arts. When the Music Man hit the Broadway stage in 1957 it
was an immediate sensation. From the first whistle of the Rock Island
train Meredith Wilson’s eight time Tony Award winning musical takes you
on a trip through 1912 Americana.
Rarely has such a vibrant tableau been created as that of the denizens
of River City; Marian the Librarian (played by Emma Haney), Mrs. Paroo
(Sydney Slovisky), bumbling Mayor Shinn (Alex Biats) and his henpecking
wife Eulalie (Morgan Mathews), bad-boy Tommy Djilas (Brandon Kline) and
the Mayor's squeaky daughter Zaneeta (Hallie Heffernan), and of course,
River City's favorite adopted son, who somehow got his free-wheeling
foot caught in the door, the irrepressibly lovable conman Harold Hill
(Brian Hirsch).
Over 60 talented students from Summit County and beyond will sing and
dance us through one of America’s favorite musicals. Don’t miss it!
Performances will be held in the Margo Snider Theatre one March 18 at 7
p.m., March 19 at 9 a.m., March 20 at 1 pm and 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 for
general admission, $5 for students and seniors and $15 for limited
reserved orchestra seating.
The school is located at 1055 East Ave in Akron. Contact the school at
330-761-1765 for further information.
