*ANNOUNCING THE SPRING CLASS SCHEDULE AT GEAUGA LYRIC THEATER!*
*All art classes will be held at the Geauga Lyric Arts Center 106 Water St
Chardon, Oh*
*Acting classes will be at the Geauga Lyric Theater 101 Water St Chardon, Oh

*INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL SLR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION 1*

*9AM-12PM April 3 SaturdayInstructor: Rick DeVan*
* Cost: $30 Ages: 16 and up*
  Students need their own digital SLR camera with

adjustable settings (M, B, Auto, etc.) and interchangeable lenses. (Only one

lens is required for class.) Learn the basics of digital photography and how

to fully use your camera's capabilities in the classroom and with hands-on

photography on Chardon Square. Half of the class will be instruction and

information and the second half will be a field trip to photograph Chardon

square. Rick DeVan is a professional photographer and web designer. His

 *WATER COLOR STUDIO FOR ADULTS*

* April 15- May 20 1:00-3:00  Thursdays*

* Instructor: Joyce Bennett*

* Ages 18 and up*

* Cost: $85 Materials fee: $20 includes paper, paints, brushes, palettes,*

* Towels*.

Go with the flow in this relaxed group atmosphere. All skill levels are
welcome

to learn about watercolor techniques, color blending, and composition.  Small


class sizes will enable one on one time with the instructor.  Go ahead and
jump

in!

*WATERCOLOR STUDIO FOR TEENS  *

 *April 15- May 20 3:00-5:00   Thursdays*

 Ages 13-18 same as above.



 *SATURDAY ART SCHOOL  *

  *April 17-May 22 9:30-10:30   Saturdays*

*Instructor: Caryl Church*

*Cost: $90 plus $10 materials fee*

*Ages: 8-12*

Instead of watching cartoons, let’s draw them! We won’t stop there.
Sculpting,

painting, and printmaking, young artists will explore them all in this
creative,

relaxed environment.

*READER'S THEATRE  *

*April 17-May 22 10:00-12:00   Saturdays*

*  Ages 6-9 (5 year olds allowed if reading)*

*Maximum students 15   Cost: $75*

*Instructor: Julie Douglass*

  This theater course is for youth who may be unsure of memorized parts and

for developing readers who want to improve their fluency. A performance for

  friends and family will be held on the last day of class.



* INTRO TO OIL PAINTING   *

 *April 17 -May 21  11:30-:100  Wednesdays*

*   Instructor Jeral Hurd*

*   $75 ,Materials fee TBA*

When oil paints were first invented, artists throughout Europe exalted them

for their boldness of color and buttery texture! This class introduces new

 painters to the rich beauty of oil painting. Students should bring images
of

some  subjects they might like to capture on a canvas. *Traditional oil
paints

 require the use of chemical solvents, we will instead be using oil pigments
that are water-mixable.*



 *INTRO TO BATIK AND SILKPAINTING *

*April 17- May 21 1:30-3:00 Wednesdays*

*   Instructor: Jeral Hurd*

*Cost: $60 plus $45 materials fee*

*Ages 12-adult*

Silk by itself needs no introduction! Join us as add intense color designs

to an already exquisite fabric! Students will become familiar with dyes,
resists,

and the writing-coloring process used in this art. Fabric arts like this
come

 from  all over Africa, India, and Indonesia. Together we can create shawls,

 sarongs, wall-hangings, and saris.



 *FUN WITH COLORED PENCILS *

   *April 21-May 26 7:00-9:00pm  Wednesdays*

* Instructor: Sandy D'Amico*

* Cost: $75*

* Ages:14 and up*

Supplies required: assorted colored pencils, any brand, at least 24, white

drawing paper (9 by 12 or 11 by 14), kneaded erasers, battery operated

 pencil sharpener, No. 2 pencils, reference photos (personal photos, or from

 magazines)  Sandy enjoys taking a break from her regular job to share her
love of drawing.

 Come and enjoy the relaxing art of colored pencils! Learn a variety of

 techniques with diverse subject matter. Have fun making new friends while

creating new artwork!



 *ACTING UP THEATER CLASS  *

  *April 26-May 19 4:00-6:00 twice a week  Mondays and Wednesdays*
*Ages 8-16*
*Maximum students: 15*

*Instructor: Angela Miloro*

*Cost $75*

Class will meet twice a week for 4 weeks. Participants will learn how to

 audition, rehearse, and perform in a play, with the final performance open
to

 friends and family the evening of May 19.



*COLOR EXPLORATION*

*May 3,10,17  7:00-8:00pm  Mondays*

*Class cost $40  materials fee $25*

Feeling blue? How about pink or yellow? This course will explore the basics
of

  color usage and build confidence in emerging or established artists.  Some
prior

knowledge of basic art materials is encouraged, but not required.

*Vision Collage Class*

*June 5 1:00-3:00pm   Saturday*

*Instructor: Joyce Gagnon*

*Class cost $20*

Joyce, an art therapist, will guide you in exploring and setting one goal
for the

next month or year-related to anything, including jobs, fiancés  or even

love. Then you will create a vision collage to express that goal.

 Four sessions: starting Tues. June 29 or Wed. June 30 4-6 pm,

 Students will be assigned to a summer workshop to provide tech for the
 performances.
 Fee:$80



* Intern Applications*

 *will be accepted the week of April 20 - May 4*

* Interviews will be on May 8*

 Employee/Volunteer assignments will be given on May 15

 Paid positions will receive $250 for the six week session, and will be
 required to also work performances.
Applications will be available online or from the business office.


 Scholarship applications and information will also be available
Limited funds are available.
