*            *Solon Center for the Arts is proud to announce the spring
concert of the Solon Philharmonic Orchestra on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at
3:00 pm. This concert, titled *Romantic Reflections, *is SPO’s second in the
2009-10 season. Under the direction of Maestro Greg Bassett, the 45 member
orchestra ranges from high school age to seasoned senior musicians.



            Featured in this concert are symphonic favorites from the
Romantic Era including Beethoven’s *Symphony No. 3 ‘Erioca’* and the *Egmont
* *Overture*. The Concertmaster for the SPO is the violinist, Sheri Lee.
Assistant Conductor is Gerald MacDougall, director of the strings program
with Solon Schools.



Also featured is guest artist and Solon resident Ethan Miller, saxophone,
who will perform Alexander Glazounov’s *Concerto in Eb Major for Alto
Saxophone and Orchestra.*  Mr. Miller is an Assistant Professor of Music at
Kent State University’s Hugh A. Glauser School of Music and an adjunct
faculty member of the Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music.  He
also serves as Music Department Coordinator at Solon Center for the Arts.  Mr.
Miller has been featured on WCLV, classical radio and is a founding member
of the Cleveland Saxophone Quartet, Trio Diverso and The Ethan Miller
Quartet.



            Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 seniors and students.  Seating
is reserved.  Concert-goers are also invited to attend a ‘Meet the Artists’
Reception in the SCA Gallery immediately following the concert. The
reception is included in the price of the ticket.
