The Heights Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Principal Conductor Anthony Addison, will perform on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at 7:30 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, 13001 Cedar Road, in Cleveland Heights. Soloists will be Cleveland Institute of Music faculty members Carol Ruzicka, violin, and Laura Shuster, viola, performing Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante, K364. The program also includes Mozart's Overture to "Idomeneo" and Robert Fuchs’ Symphony #1, an unfamiliar but highly satisfying work of the late nineteenth century.  Free will donation.

Ms. Ruzicka, a resident of Newburgh Heights, received Bachelor of Music, Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She also studied at the Cleveland Music School Settlement, earning a Certificate of Achievement, at the Meadowmount School of Music, and at Tanglewood, where she was a fellowship student. Ms. Ruzicka appears frequently as a recitalist and chamber musician in the Great Lakes area, and undertook a concert tour of Poland in 2005. She performs with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, and has served on the faculty of the ENCORE School for Strings. Appointed to the CIM faculty in 1984, she is currently Administrative Director of the Preparatory Violin Department and violin instructor. 
  
Ms. Shuster,a resident of Cleveland Heights, earned her B.M. from the Cleveland Institute of Music and her M.M. from the Peabody Institute of Music in Performance and Pedagogy. Ms. Shuster enjoys a varied freelance career in Cleveland, performing with various chamber orchestras, Opera Cleveland, and the Athena String Quartet.  She also plays regularly with the Pittsburgh Symphony. Appointed to the CIM faculty in 2001, she is currently Coordinator of Sato Projects and Suzuki Viola Instructor in the Sato Center for Suzuki Studies.
