Calling All Teen Thespians.
 
Mercury Summer Stock is accepting applications for Teenstock and the Ohio Premiere of the musical Dear Edwina!
 
Explore all aspects of the theatre with others who love stage as much as you do! Mercury Summer Stock’s TeenStock is the arts camp that is more than a traditional summer camp. Designed for students 13-19, the program is a comprehensive, one-week intensive June 14 through June 18 in which students receive high-quality theatrical training from professional theatre artists.
 
Our curriculum focuses on producing all aspects of a full-length musical. This season will feature the Ohio Premiere of the NEW musical comedy, Dear Edwina. Our students will be involved in, and explore every facet of, creating a first-class musical production, summer stock style. The students will get to participate and perform in six performances of their completed show at The Brooks Theatre in The Cleveland Play House.
 
Each student will not only star onstage in the production, but also will also contribute to the direction, choreography, set, lighting and costume design of the production. Slots are also available for young directors, choreographers, and stage technicians who want to participate behind the scenes and hone their skills in a fast-paced, creative environment.
 
TeenStock is designed to instill in aspiring thespians a deeper understanding about producing and participating in a first-class musical with working professionals.

Thirteen year-old Edwina Spoonapple would do just about anything to be a part of the Kalamazoo Advice-a-palooza Festival. While her siblings both have proof "up on the fridge" of their accomplishments, poor Edwina has nothing. When a talent scout from the convention visits her hometown of Paw Paw, Michigan, she trots out her musical advice-giving shows live from the family garage in hopes of finding her place in the spotlight. With her friends, they set out to tackle the world's problems, in number after hysterical number about everything from birthday party etiquette to the proper way to set a table.
