JOHN CARROLL PRESENTS WORLD PREMIERE COMEDY BY LOCAL PLAYWRIGHT

"Household Tales", a dark comedy by Cleveland Heights playwright Jonathan Wilhelm, will have its world premiere as John Carroll University's Spring Theatre Department production.

"Household Tales" is a play about the families we create for ourselves and the families we're stuck with.

It follows a newly engaged couple, Giles and Jordan, as they journey through four different households and four unique sets of parents: the Mother and Father who have taken the typical 1950's television family as their role model; the White Trash Mom and Pop who love their big hair and whiskey, respectively; the liberal "Mums" and "Pups" acedemics who know how to write about parenting better than actually practicing it and finally, the gentile Southern Belle school teacher who may or may not be delusional.

The creation of "Household Tales" was assisted by CPT's Dark Room, where it received a staged reading in August 2008.

Production dates are April 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 7:30 pm; April 25 at 2 pm in Kulas Auditorium, Administration Building, John Carroll Campus.

Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door.  Reservations may be made by calling 1-216-397-4428.
