SUMMER WITH THE JAZZ MASTERS
June 21-30, 2010 at the Metropolitan Campus
Ages: 12-18
Price: $300
Cuyahoga Community College, recognized internationally for the caliber
of its jazz education programs, presents Summer With the Jazz Masters.
This summer program includes ensemble practice, theory and
improvisation. Students enjoy the opportunity to engage in both small
group and large ensembles with the superb Tri-C Jazz Studies faculty;
and the opportunity to work with guest artists, which in the past have
included Wynton Marsalis, John and Jeff Clayton, James Moody, Bucky
Pizzarelli, Louis Bellson, Marcus Bellgrave and David "Fathead" Newman,
among others.
This year's program concludes with a gala fundraising performance on
June 30, 2010 at the Hanna Theatre in PlayhouseSquare that will showcase
the Monterey JazzFest Next Generation Jazz Orchestra.
SWJM students will play alongside the Monterey JazzFest Next Generation
Jazz Orchestra, the Tri-C JazzFest High School All-Stars, and students
from the Tri-C Jazz Studies program in a fundraiser to support the work
of the Tri-C Jazz Studies program.
Monday through Fri. 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
The program takes place in the new state-of-the-art Center for Creative
Arts CCA 310/312, and the Metropolitan Auditorium.
