Power Pattern Workshop with Chris Trew

Thursday, April 29th

6-8 p.m.

The Powerhouse Pub,

2000 Sycamore,

Cleveland, OH

$25

We've all used patterns games as a warm up - but what if you approached
each and every line in your scene with a strict respect for the pattern
that you and your scene partner are mutually establishing while
avoiding "word association improv"? In this workshop, The New Movement
Artistic Director Chris Trew will show you how he approaches every line
in every scene - and by the end of the workshop you will have an
alternative road map to take with you into all the improv you do,
making your job as an improviser a little easier and a lot more fun.

This workshop has been seen at: New Orleans Improv Festival, North
Carolina Comedy Arts Fest, Baltimore Improv Festival, Local Flavor
Comedy Tour (February 2009), Dream of Meal Comedy Tour (August 2009),
Tourcation Comedy Tour (2010)

Chris Trew has been called an "Improv Master" by The Onion A.V. Club,
"a Tireless performer" and "Hilarious" by the Austinist, named
"Austin's Most Fearless Improviser" by his peers and "Out of his
Fucking mind" by the Austin Chronicle. Chris founded Studio8 in New
Orleans in 2000, a sketch group that has appeared on Comedy Central's
AtomTV. Part of the improviser exodus to Austin, Texas after Katrina,
he was a co-founder of ColdTowne Theater there. Now he serves as
co-owner and Artistic Director of The New Movement, which operates two
improv theaters/training centers, one in Austin and the other in
Dallas. He is also the host of the Air Sex World Championships and has
appeared on an episode of "The Bad Girls Club." He once finished dead
last in an Austin-American Statesman Most Eligible Bachelor poll.
