[NEohioPAL] Bob Abelman Receives National and Local Honors for Arts Journalism

The Cleveland theater community should be very proud of one of our own.
Local actor, writer, and educator, Bob Abelman, is one of only 25 arts and
entertainment journalists selected to receive a prestigious fellowship
presented by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). This fellowship will
allow him to take part in the Arts Journalism Institute in Theater and
Musical Theater at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at
the University of Southern California this summer. The Institute is an
eleven-day program which includes workshops with leading arts journalists,
master classes with performing arts professionals and the opportunity to
view world premiere theater productions.
Closer to home, Bob recently received top honors in the 2010 Ohio
Professional Writers, Inc. (OPW) Communications competition for his articles
about community and professional theater.
