“For Starters:  A Festival of Student-Directed One-Act Plays,” runs April
22-May 2 at The University of Akron in two theatres in Guzzetta Hall, 139 E.
Buchtel Ave.

Organized and presented by students in UA’s Theatre Program, the festival
opens with Eurydice, the bittersweet and off-beat retelling of the classic
love story of Orpheus and Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl. Directed by Benjamin
Rexroad, Eurydice plays April 22-24 at 8 p.m. and April 25 at 2 p.m. in
Sandefur Theater.

Anton Chekhov’s The Bear and Douglass Hill’s Roulette will be presented
together on April 29- May 1 at 8 p.m. and May 2 at 2 p.m.  UA student Yulia
Gray will direct The Bear in Varian Studio, followed by Roulette, directed
by Tiffany Johnson, in Sandefur Theater.

Tickets are just $5 and are good for all three performances. They may be
purchased in advance by calling 330.972.7895 or one hour before each
