[NEohioPAL] IMPORTANT REMINDERS to those who POST: No attachments/graphics AND only post same message once a week

*No Graphics, pictures or attachments.... *
I want clarify the policy on the use of attachments and graphics in
your postings.

Attachments, pictures and graphics are not permitted in NEohioPAL
postings.   I review all postings and reject the postings with
attachments and graphics. When I reject them I always refer the poster
to the Neohiopal FAQS: http://www.fredsternfeld.com/faqs.htm so they
can review complete
posting instructions and then resubmit with corrections. If you want
people to see a graphic
or attachment please set them up on a website and provide a link in
your posting.

I have been able to screen out over 95% of the postings with graphics.

The reason some postings are approved with graphics is by accident.
The system only shows me a 'request for posting' in html form and only
a partial section of the body of the e-mail. Sometimes I simply can't
tell there is an attachment or graphic. An unfortunate flaw in the
system, but I'll continue to do my best to screen out the large files.

Also, I have been rejecting a fair amount of postings lately for a
variety of reasons.  Here are some instructions so you can make sure
your message is approved...
*Frequency of posting...*
At the most, you should post your message once a week.  Deluging the
subscribers with repeat postings doesn't get your message across (I
should know - I've been guilty of that one.  :-).  In fact it can have
quite the opposite effect. You can trust that if they are interested
they will put your event on their calendar and show up.
*Subject Lines that will get you the best results...*
The feedback I have received from subscribers is that many people
delete messages without opening them when the subject line is not
descriptive enough.  To get the most number of people opening your
message and to get the best results ALWAYS include the producing
organization AND event in your subject line:
*EXAMPLES:**Producing Organization:* The Cleveland Playhouse, Fine
Arts at Willoughby, Great Lakes Theatre Festival, Cleveland Opera,
Karamu Theatre, etc.*Event :*  Auditions for "Les Miserables,"
"Miss Saigon" opening  at.... ,
 "Puttin' on the Ritz" benefit at.... , etc.
*Examples of good subject lines...*
- Auditions for "Death of a Salesman" at Actors Summit
- Special $10 price to NEOPAL subscribers - THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK at
the Magical Theatre
- AUDITIONS -- "Noises Off" at Cassidy Theatre
- Cleveland Play House spring drama classes for ages 7-14
- PD Review of MISS SAIGON at Playhouse Square Center
