The 48 Hour Film Project (http://www.48hourfilm.com/cleveland) returns to Cleveland! This year's competition will take place July 30th-August 1st, with all of the finished films screened at the Cedar Lee Theater on August 4th and 5th. Registration for the competition will open near the beginning of June.
The 48HFP is the world's largest timed film competition. Filmmakers have 48 hours to write, produce, and edit a short film. All of the films need to be written in a specific genre and include a character, prop, and line of dialogue, none of which are known until the start of the contest. The films are then screened and judged by local film professionals for various awards, including the Best Film. The Best Films of each city move on to the national 48HFP competition, Filmapalooza, as well as the chance to move on to film invitationals such as the International Shootout and the Panasonic HD Showdown. This year's 48HFP will take place in over 80 cities around the world.
The Cleveland 48HFP will be helmed for the third year by producer Brian Bowers. Brian is already planning a series of networking events to help filmmakers meet other potential teammates.
