[NEohioPAL] "THE SURREAL THING" in ONE WEEK!

Please consider joining OddyFest for a wacky collection of short plays and
music called "The Surreal Thing", featuring a phantasmagorical farce "La
Sueña" by Matt Greenfield, and ten different short plays (not to mention a
smattering of songs) by high school students spread out over two different
nights. The fun starts this coming *Saturday, May 8, at 2:45 p.m. in the
Brody-Nelson MTG Room of the Cleveland Heights Library (2345 Lee Road)*. As
always, the show is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Please come out and
support emerging theatre and music artists as they "do their thing" for the
first time in front of a "live studio audience". Read on for details:

*The Surreal Thing: OddyFest #21*

* *

*Featuring the Gilmour Academy singer-songwriters “Freewheelin’*

*Jack & Casey” playing their own original hits and covers!*

*“La Sueña” by Matt Greenfield*

Two high school aged friends, Pete and Bob, sit around one of their houses
(it’s never determined whose) and chat about television, blackjack, and
existential philosophy. Then Bob goes inside Pete’s dream world as Pete
encounters doctors, cheerleaders, ski instructors, imploded buildings, and a
giant rolling eyeball. Join OddyFest on the surreal ride as we put an Oddy
twist on the traditional buddy comedy in this phantasmagorical farce.

*Readings from Gilmour Academy’s “P-Unit”*

Based in part on the overwhelming success of “P-Unit’s” December program,
high school student playwrights return to bring you their latest crop of
experimental one-acts that explore a bizarre mix of genre, form, and source
material. Behold the theatre of the future as each program features five
original student-written and -presented plays in staged reading form.

*The Odd WEEKENDS:*

*Saturday, May 8 @ 2:45 / Friday, May 21 @ 6:45*

* *

*BRODY-NELSON ROOM*

*of the Cleveland Heights Library, Lee Road Branch*
