Community Celebration of the Arts

Beck Center's Annual Open House for the Community

 

Lakewood, OH-To show appreciation to the community for its support of the arts, the Beck Center for the Arts welcomes the public to its annual Community Celebration of the Arts on Sunday, May 16, 2010, Noon to 2 p.m., at the Beck Center for the Arts. 

 

This fun event is free and open to families of all ages. Attendees can enjoy an afternoon of hands-on arts experiences, including:

 

·         Learning dance moves in the Dance Studio,

·         Drumming and playing music with early childhood music staff,

·         Making pottery and spin art and watching pottery wheel demonstrations,

·         Chalking art creations in Beck's front yard gathering space,

·         Trying on costumes and having photos taken on the set of Sleeping Beauty Ballet, and

·         Taking a backstage tour of the theater and seeing where the magic happens.

 

The event also marks the kick off of the Beck Café Red Stage Summer Concert Series in the front courtyard. Relax, sip gourmet coffee, and enjoy folk, jazz, and classical music into the evening hours. 

 

Attendees who sign up for 2010 summer camps and classes onsite will receive 10% off tuition. 

 

Beck Center for the Arts is located at 17801 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood. Free onsite parking is available. For more information, call the Beck Center at 216.521.2540 x10.
