Congratulations to director Joel Hammer and the Dobama Theatre for assembling one of the strongest casts of the season, currently on stage in a fabulous production of the British import, Humble Boy.

Greg Violand and Maryann Nagle are absolutely wonderful (and very powerful), as George and Flora; Andrew Cruse is so very touching and vulnerable (solid performance!), as Flora's son, Felix: Laura Starnik is incredibly funny and very sweet as the neighbor, Mercy (great monologue in Act 2!); Laurel Johnson, as Felix's ex-girlfriend Rosie, is a joy to watch, and Brian Zoldessy as Jim the Gardner is a little gem (his Act 2 scene with Flora is a killer!).

And bravo to Set Designer Ron Newell, whose set will take your breath away when you enter the theatre. You actually believe you are sitting in Flora's backyard English garden.

Do not miss this production! I'm planning a second visit!
