First Mondays features Poets in Performance Gail Bellamy and Lee Chilcote on
June 7 at 7:00 PM  at The Alcazar

First Mondays showcases the work of Cleveland Heights Poet Laureate Gail
Bellamy on Monday, June 7 at 7 p.m.  Join us for Poets in Performance at The
Alcazar, 2450 Derbyshire Road in Cleveland Heights. Patricia Averbach hosts
a program that includes poet and guitarist Lee Chilcote.

In addition to serving a second term as Poet Laureate for the city of
Cleveland Heights, Gail is also the recipient of a 2010 Creative Workforce
Fellowship in Poetry, sponsored by the Community Partnership for Arts and
Culture and funded by Cuyahoga County residents through Cuyahoga Arts and
Culture. She is the author of two chapbooks, Victual Reality (Pudding House,
2000) and Traveler’s Salad (Pudding House, 2009). Her work has appeared in
more than 80 publications and numerous anthologies.

Gail’s published books include Cleveland Food Memories (Gray & Co., 2003),
Design Spirits (St. Martin’s Press, 1997) and The Vegetable Storybook (Keiki
O Ka Aina Press, 2010), co-authored with Vicki Draeger.  Gail is also a
member of the popular “Take Nine” ensemble which appeared at The Alcazar in
March.

The historic Alcazar is located at 2450 Derbyshire, just at the top of Cedar
Hill in the Cedar-Fairmount neighborhood. Admission is $5 at the door.
Street parking is available on Derbyshire and Surrey and in the metered city
lot just off Cedar Road at Derbyshire. Call (216) 321-5400 on the day of the
program for handicapped parking in The Alcazar garage.
