Wanderlust is a vibrant tour through the history of walking: from the discovery of a 3.2 million year old hominid to the civil rights marches, from labyrinths to Las Vegas - the ultimate symbol of a post-walking America. This performance is not just about walking, but about who we are as humans and how modern culture may be at odds with our true spirit.

The critics are raving about Wanderlust:
"It's a nonstop, highly choreographed dance-theater piece. From the bones of 'Lucy' (a hominid who lived more than 3 million years ago and whose pelvis indicates she was bipedal) through Aristotle's Greece and the Middle Ages to modern-day Las Vegas, [Matthew] Earnest and crew set a perpetual human machine in motion for 100 minutes. It's an impressive and extraordinarily entertaining education with every member of the cast pitching in. Walk, don't drive, to the box office." - Tony Brown, The Plain Dealer

"A stimulating freeform collection of observations, quotes, and snatches of scenes involving walking that cover the globe and all of human history. From a walking tour at the Acropolis in Athens and a streetwalker in Brooklyn to Walt Whitman's words and people doing the cakewalk dance, the play is a paean to the glory of action, as well as the convergence of walking and thinking. Earnest's thrilling theatrical chops should make you kick your heels in glee." - Christine Howey, Cleveland Scene

"Wanderlust is performed by a peerless ensemble and beautifully directed by [Matthew] Earnest, who also choreographed the work. The 100-minute expressionistic theater piece is a total immersion experience that kept me transfixed throughout. Wanderlust belongs to the exciting school of physical theater in which body language and minimal props can paint an entire visual picture of what is taking place. Wanderlust is a unique theatrical experience and a joy to watch. I shall never look at walking in quite the same way again. Nor will you." - Fran Heller, Cleveland Jewish News
