Hello NEOhioPAL!!

Local video production company Hyndsight Productions has some very exciting news! Below you'll
find a links to the Pepsi Refresh Project. Hyndsight
has been selected to compete for funding to produce and co-produce two
documentaries here in Cleveland this summer. Should we win the grants, we'll be
shooting the pieces this summer using NE Ohio crew and talent.

But in
order to win the funding for this documentary, WE NEED YOUR ONLINE SUPPORT!
The contest is entirely based upon YOUR VOTES. Please consider logging
on once a day everyday this month and voting
for our documentary projects. Yes, you can certainly vote more than once. You can vote once A DAY EVERY DAY for up to ten projects a day. (You'll need to set up a user account - email only - to vote, but you won't get any spam. I promise!)

The first documentary entitled "Profiles of a City" will run
30-minutes when complete and is about shedding light on the issues
facing those in NE Ohio. The tone of this piece will be a hopeful but
honest examination of what residents are facing in the current
climate. The second piece is a short-form documentary that hopes to
start a "Conversation on Race" and is based upon a book by Dr. Deborah
Plummer. This project will be co-produced with Bob Stefanov
Productions. The top
vote-getters at the end of the month will win the funding for their
projects. (For better descriptions of each project, please see below.)

As
you all know well, funding for such projects is tough. But both of these projects are worthwhile and have been
thoroughly planned to ensure the highest quality productions.

PLEASE pass
this link on to your friends, family, kids, your kids' friends, those interested in the arts, congregations, co-workers,
large organizations, acquaintances, neighbors - whomever! This is a
national contest so we really do need you to vote repeatedly each and every day.

Thank you so much for your help and support in this project. We remain optimistic that these projects will
succeed!

Best,
Kelley

Here's a brief description of the 30-minute documentary "Profile of a City":

"Profile of a City" will feature one of America's struggling cities -
Cleveland. This 30 minute documentary will examine what life is really
like for residents across socioeconomic, cultural and neighborhood
lines. In "Profile" our team will talk with people who ride the city's
public buses, the only form of public transportation, from all
different areas of town and discover what their dreams are, what they
struggle with, why they ride the bus and where they are going. Through
this exercise, viewers will discover some individuals struggling, some
hopeful and many simply coping with today's civic and economic climate.
As Louis Brandeis says, "Sunshine is the Best Antiseptic." Through this
documentary, viewers get a raw, honest and deeply touching "Profile of
a City" - shedding light on what is right, what needs repair and what
we share as a nation. The intent is that this documentary can
eventually be replicated in other cities to create the series "Profile
of a Nation."

Here's a brief description of the Race Relations documentary "Race: An Old Topic for a New World":
The DVD we intend to produce, "Race: An Old Topic for Our New World" is a companion piece to the published book "Racing Across the Lines" by Dr. Deborah Plummer. The
DVD is designed to provoke conversations between friends &
neighbors and within businesses and places of worship. Target
audiences: leaders in the area of diversity, cultural
awareness/community, and individuals interested in changing modern race
relations. The DVD is designed in chapters focused on the topics of
Race, Business, Worship, Community and Synthesis. Content consists of
actual group exercises that can be re-created by users at their own
events. Insight and commentary from Dr. Plummer and other experts in
the field of diversity and race.
