TrueNorth’s 6th commissioned piece on local history topics continues with
The 9th Ship: Battle of Lake Erie. The Ninth Ship is an interwoven story
about James Krummel, an unlikely participant in the Battle of Lake Erie, and
a young girl, Ollie, who finds his journal and relives the story generations
later. As the action unfolds across the generations, the Northeastern Ohio
region will take shape, James will become a hero, and Ollie’s life will be
changed forever.

This is our sixth production, in a series of 10, highlighting local history.
Each gives us the opportunity to encourage new works, empower playwrights,
give actors the opportunity to originate roles, and enhance our theatre by
premiering original productions.

*Music & Lyrics by Roger Miller ***

*Jacqi Loewy** and Brian Zoldessy, Co-Directors*

*Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn* combines Mark Twain’s
unflinching portrayal of the antebellum South and slavery with bluegrass and
country music styles to bring the Southern setting alive and make Twain’s
critical look at racism even more poignant today.

*Set your compass to TrueNorth … as together we celebrate the arts, music
and theatre*
