Thu Jul 8 14:04:58 PDT 2010

Please consider joining OddyFest for the second and last showing of the
all-American program "An American Trilogy", featuring three offbeat
investigations of American identity through the ages, *next Friday, July 16,
at 6:45 p.m. at the Brody-Nelson MTG Room of the Cleveland Heights Library
(2345 Lee Road)*. Read on for more details about the plays:

*An American Trilogy: OddyFest #23*

* *

*Oddy’s most ambitious evening of theatre yet: three long one-act plays by
Oddy Ringmaster Matt Greenfield in honor of America’s 234th b-day*

* *

*“Welcome to Virginia”*

A historically-loose investigation of the diverse culture of Jamestown as a
Scots-Irish farmer, an African would-be-slave, and a Puritan who got on the
wrong boat try to scratch out an existence in late-17th century America.

*“September 10, 2001”*

Dramatic irony at its Oddy-est: the impact of 9/11 implicitly examined
through a day-in-the-life of a suburban family before the tragedy.

*“Gazebo”*

A highly absurdist work that uses a park gazebo as metaphor for this
ambiguous nation-state and its constantly-shifting sense of identity.

*July 16*

*Show starts at 6:45*

* *

*BRODY-NELSON ROOM*

*of the Cleveland Heights Library, Lee Road Branch*

*(2345 Lee Road, just next to the stairs)*

*FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!*
