The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival's 13th Season of FREE Shakespeare continues
this weekend Saturday July 17rd and Sunday July 18th at The Shaker Heights
Community Colonnade. Allan Byrne returns to CSF, directing Shakespeare's oldest
and bloodiest tragedy, Titus Andronicus, and Tyson Douglas Rand once again
demonstrates his directorial skills inThe Merry Wives of Windsor, a hilarious
comedy about love, betrayal, and revenge.
About Titus Andronicus:
The Emperor of Rome has died and his sons are squabbling over who willsucceed
him. The people's choice for new emperor, Titus Andronicus, is a Romangeneral
who is returning from a ten year battle against the empire'sfoes, the Goths.
Titus enters Rome to much fanfare, bearing with him Tamora, Queen of the Goths,
her sons, and Aaron the Moor. Violence is sure to ensue.
About Merry Wives of Windsor:
Merry Wives is a whimsical, lighthearted farce featuring William
Shakespeare's most well-known comedic character, Falstaff. Falstaff attempts to
woo two married women, Mistresses Page and Ford, by sending them each
identical love letters. The two women discover his plan, and hilarity ensues!
Fees:As always, The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival brings Shakespeare to
outdoor venues all over Northeast Ohio, all summer long -- for FREE. Audience
members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and picnic under the
stars while enjoying professional theater.
